Cream of the West was one of the benefactors of a USDA grant received by the Snowy Mountain Development Corporation. Though it doesn't mention Cream of the West specifically, the following article appeared in the September 25, 2009 edition of the Great Falls Tribune:

"LEWISTOWN -- Snowy Mountain Development Corp. was selected for two federal grants totaling $63,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The funds are meant to encouraging economic development in rural areas.
The federal agency announced Thursday that the Lewistown economic development group was one of 58 groups that will receive a portion of $8 million as part of the rural business enterprise program.
The money finances development of small and emerging rural business, and may be used for project planning, land acquisition and development, transportation and infrastructure improvements, renovation or construction, equipment purchases, establishment of working capital or revolving loan funds, adult job training and technical assistance.
The Fort Peck Tribe received a $19,449 grant as part of a separate $4 million program aimed at spurring economic development in Native American communities. The tribe was one of 23 recipients.
"These Native American communities will receive funding for business and job creation, and to repair, improve or build passenger transit systems," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said.
The funding is for projects where at least three-quarters of the benefits will be received by members of a federally recognized tribe or a tribally owned business venture."
